David started his career in advertising as Assistant Director with Dragon Film Productions Hong Kong in 1976 before moving on in 1979 to become Production Manager of Salon Films Hong Kong. Following a four year spell as Senior Producer with McCann-Erickson Hong Kong, David joined The Film Factory Hong Kong as a Director in 1985.
1976年，徐佩侃导演以助理导演的身份在香港Dragon Film入行，三年后，转投Salon Film任制作经理，真正令David对广告拍摄开窍的，是他进入麦肯做了4年广告公司监制。1985年，在行业内蛰伏了近十年的David，终于在Film Factory实现了自己的导演梦，从此开始了让他日后功成名就，誉满业内的导演生涯。

David founded Moviola Productions Limited in 1989 and today Moviola has five directors, with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.
1989年，徐佩侃导演创建Moviola电视广告制作公司，直至今日已在香港、新加坡和上海建立了自己的分公司，并拥有5位导演。

David's work has focused primarily on "storytelling", "people" and "humour", capturing magic moments and evoking emotional responses seldom seen in advertising.
